Joe and I recently had the pleasure of joining our friend Trader Ferg for a wide-ranging conversation about coal, LNG, energy security, and commodity investing. Rather than recap the discussion, I wanted to highlight a few themes that I think are worth listening for.

If you’ve been at all invested in commodity stonks over the last milennium, this is a concept you’ve had to learn viscerally rather than intellectually.

It inevitably and predictably plays out in a cycle seemingly designed to provoke maximum comedy and minimum returns.

Once you learn it, you can’t unlearn it…but even after that, the cycle is still going to mess with you time and time again.
